The front of this 1" medal depicts St. Cecilia, the patroness of musicians, playing a small organ.  She is said to have been beheaded with a sword as depicted on the back of the medal. Cecilia was body was transferred to the Church of Santa Cecilia in Trastevere. In 1599, her body was found still incorrupt, seeming to be asleep.  She is one of seven women, excluding the Blessed Virgin, commemorated by name in the Canon of the Mass.  St. Cecilia pray for us!  Also see medal #375 for another St. Cecilia medal.
